EVENT RULES

This event is run under the rules of the World Athletics (WA), Athletics South Africa (ASA) and KwaZulu-Natal Athletics (KZNA).

ENTRANT RESPONSIBILITY

It is the responsibility of the entrant (or their legal guardian) to ensure that all the correct participant information is supplied. Entrants who provide incorrect or incomplete information on their entry forms, whether electronically or written, may not qualify for any gender or age category prizes.

ENTRY LIMIT

Limited to 12,000 entries.

AGE RESTRICTION

• 10 km – competitors are required to be 14 years or older on the day of competition.
• 5 km – competitors are required to be 9 years or older on the day of competition.

FOREIGN ATHLETES

All foreign athletes must comply with WA Rule 4.2, 22.1 and 142 together with ASA Rule 9.

ENTRY OPTIONS

• Enter online at www.spar.run using Visa and MasterCard Credit and Debit Cards only / Electronic EFT.
• Online payments must be received on or before Monday, 16 June 2025.
• No faxed or emailed entries will be accepted.
• Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will entry fees be refunded.
• No substitutions.
• SPAR stores will NOT accept entries or entry forms.

BULK ENTRIES

If you are entering 10 or more people – CLICK HERE.
Bulk entries must be done electronically via the online entry portal. No entries will be accepted via email. Bulk entries must be collected by the team co-ordinator. Please note that entries will not be processed until payment has been received.
Bulk entries close on Friday, 6 June 2025.

ENTER AT REGISTRATION

Manual entries will be accepted at the Registration Venue on the 2 days prior to the event (Subject to the 12,000 limit not having been reached). ENTRIES CLOSED

RACE PACK COLLECTION

T-SHIRTS & PROMO BAGS

12,000 T-shirts and Promo Bags will be produced. Distribution will be on a first come, first served basis.

RACE BIBS & LICENCE NUMBERS

All participants must wear a SPAR Race Bib / Number on the FRONT of their vest/shirt.

TIMING

Your race bib / number has an electronic timing chip attached. No race bib, No time, No exceptions.

START, COURSE & FINISH VENUES

Both the 10km and 5km events start at Masabalala Yengwa Avenue outside Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium and finish on the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium Outer Fields.

GENERAL

• No personal seconding on route
• No vehicles
• No bicycles
• No trolleys or carts
• No pets

LITTERING

WA Rule 125 allows a Race Referee to issue warnings (yellow card) or exclusion (red card) for improper behavior.

FINISHERS

All finishers will receive a medal.

APPEALS

An appeal must be made within 30 minutes of the official decision, with a deposit of R500.

PRIZE GIVING

Scheduled to begin at 10:00. Age Category tags must be worn clearly.

LUCKY DRAW PRIZES

All female entrants present at the finish venue qualify for lucky draw prizes.

PARTICIPANT SUPPORTERS

This is a Women’s event. Non-female entrants are NOT eligible for prizes.

RIGHTS RESERVED

Entries with irregularities may be rejected. No substitutions. No refunds.

OFFICIAL CHARITY

R5 of each entry will go to Sinethemba Women’s Foundation, the Official Charity.
